Manufactured with renowned German precision, the HWS flat flange benchtop reactor is engineered to meet the highest technical standards and regulatory requirements. Each reactor is constructed using high-quality Type I, Class A borosilicate glass components from Schott, Mainz,, ensuring exceptional thermal and chemical resistance. To further enhance durability and longevity, HWS integrates highly corrosion-resistant materials such as glass-lined steel and fluoropolymers, allowing safe operation with aggressive substances. Flange Systems

  • Our reactors come with a range of flange systems to suit various applications, including:
  • Standard HWS, Schott Laboratory (s), Schott Technical (p, k, f) (plane or spherical in ball/socket configurations), Schott Pilot (I) (no extra charge)
  • SVL, and fully customized designs based on buyer specifications. (q, o, y)

Nominal Widths Available

We offer flexibility in sizing, with nominal widths available in DN 35, DN 50, DN 60, DN 80, DN 100, DN 120, DN 150, DN 160, DN 200, and DN 300.

(Please note: Not all flanges and accessories are available in every dimension due to production limitations.)

Joints for Jacketed Vessels

Multiple joint options are available to accommodate jacketed vessels, including:

  • Flat flange (DN 15 and DN 10, standard), HWS-olive (DN 10), GL 14 and GL 18 threads (no extra charge), and custom designs upon request.
  • Fitting accessories, such as adaptors and hoses, are also available (see page 45 for details).

Bottom Outlet Options

Tailor your reactor’s bottom outlet with options including:

  • Spherical and conical joints, external threads (GL / SVL), flat flanges, and Rotulex connectors.
    PTFE spindle valves with dead-volume-free designs, in types “T” (10 mm bore), “H” (20 mm), “Q” (25 mm), “L” Linea 10 (10 mm), “P” Linea 20 (20 mm), and “S” for NW 50.
  • Pneumatic outlet valves for easy accessory mounting, stopcocks, ball valves in nichrome or custom materials, and magnetic outlet systems.
  • Customizable outlets with options like olive, GL threads, joints, and more, based on specific needs.

Special Vessel Models

For specialized applications, HWS offers unique vessel configurations, including:

  • Lateral overflow outlets, additional bottom outlets, and round bottom flasks with flanges.
    Triple-walled vessels with options for socket evacuation, full evacuation, or evacuation with silver-plating.
  • Custom designs for heated flanges, graduated vessels (including inner graduation for double-walled vessels), flat bottoms (inner and outer), and plastic coatings (Levasint, polyurethane).
  • Material options include stainless steel, Halar, PTFE coatings, or brown color for light-sensitive products.
Available Configurations
Pressure and Vacuum Compatibility

Designed primarily for non-pressurized or low-pressure applications up to 0.1 bar, the HWS flat flange reactor ensures safe, stable performance in a variety of settings. For applications requiring higher pressures, please specify the necessary pressure and temperature requirements. We can produce a custom solution in accordance with standard norms, complete with a material test certificate.

Thanks to its torispherical shape and HWS flat flange lids, this reactor is also ideally suited for vacuum applications. Reactors with flat bottoms or smaller-radius melted discs are best used for vacuum or slight excess pressure conditions to ensure structural integrity.
